SCANAO Orphanage was born out of a simple but urgent calling no child should sleep on the streets. Every day in Kenya, thousands of children face hunger, danger, and abandonment with no one to turn to. We are here to change that.Since our founding, we have opened our doors to street children — giving them a safe home, quality education, proper healthcare, and most importantly, unconditional love. Rooted in Christian values, we believe every child is created with purpose and deserves a chance to discover it.At SCANAO, we do not just rescue children. We restore their dignity, rebuild their confidence, and raise them to become tomorrow’s leaders.

Nyachoti
Founder & Executive Director
Driven by faith and a burning passion to see every street child find a home, Nyachoti founded SCANAO Orphanage with nothing but a vision and a willing heart. Today, through his leadership and dedication, hundreds of children have been rescued, loved, and given a future they never thought possible.
David Nolan
Co-Founder & Education Coordinator
David believes that education is the most powerful weapon a child can have. As Co-Founder and Education Coordinator, he has dedicated his life to ensuring that every child at SCANAO regardless of where they came from receives quality education that unlocks their potential and transforms their future. Through his innovative programs and tireless commitment, David is turning former street children into bright, educated young people ready to change Kenya.
Amina Otieno
Healthcare Manager
Amina has a heart as big as her medical knowledge. As our Healthcare Manager, she ensures that every child who arrives at SCANAO often malnourished, sick, and neglected receives the medical attention and emotional healing they desperately need. Amina does not just treat illness; she restores health, rebuilds strength, and brings back the smile that every child deserves. Her compassion and expertise are truly a gift to every child at SCANAO.
Alice Gesare
Volunteer Program Lead
Alice is the bridge between SCANAO Orphanage and the world outside. As our Volunteer Program Lead, she coordinates and inspires volunteers from across Kenya and beyond connecting people with a heart to serve to children who desperately need to be served. Alice’s warmth, dedication, and exceptional leadership ensure that every volunteer who walks through our doors leaves having made a real and lasting difference in a child’s life
Our Story – How SCANAO Began
SCANAO Orphanage was not born in comfort it was born out of courage. When Nyachoti and David looked at the streets of Kenya and saw children suffering alone, they could not look away. With limited resources but unlimited faith, they opened their doors to just 30 street children who had nowhere to go and no one to turn to.The journey was not easy. There were days of struggle, shortage, and sacrifice. But every challenge only deepened their commitment to these children. They pressed on driven by faith, love, and the belief that every child deserves a home.Today, what started as a dream shared by two passionate men has grown into a thriving orphanage that is home to over 200 children. Each one is fed, educated, loved, and given the chance to build a future they never thought possible.SCANAO is proof that when ordinary people answer an extraordinary calling, lives are changed forever.
